Our spotlight resident this month is Ms. Maple Pride.

We choose her for her joyful spirit, as she is always smiling and laughing.  Ms. Pride always has a quick and inventive comeback, she said, "I love to make people laugh."

"I love my home here (she has lived here for 9 years on July 25th) and I am so lucky my nephew helped me find a place where I get good food and feel safe. I go to bingo, groups where we cook or bands play, as I like to dance in my chair!! I have many good friends here and my family visits all the time."

In this picture she is participating in the bean bag toss competition. WMC Action News 5 Sports Director Jarvis Greer served as master of ceremonies at Bellevue Baptist Church and presented Allenbrooke Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC with the overall Most Spirited Faciltiy Award.  "We showed out", Ms. Pride added when showing her medal.

Nineteen nursing facilities displayed banners designed by residnets and there were five people over the age of 100 who participated in the games. The participants competed in horseshoes, bean bag toss, darts, basketball and wheelchair races.
